Inspired by Dwayne “the Rock” Johnsons’s return to wrestling to try and reconnect with his fans amid flagging box office returns of his recent films, David Schwimmer is ready for his Round 2 as well. Hewing close to the Rock’s example he rebrands himself as the “Final Ross”, and begins filming guerilla prank videos at strip malls and downtown hubs in a homemade luchador costume with a monkey resembling Marcel from Friends as his manager. The videos of his antics barely make a ripple on YouTube, and Schwimmer is driven to even more extreme lengths to try and gain views: “rescuing” his manager’s family from the zoo and “liberating” dvd collections of Friends from Wal-Mart before they purge their physical media like other big box retailers.
As the Final Ross flirts closer and closer with his heel turn a strange and little understood corner of the internet does begin to take notice- wrestling fans who inexplicably also love Schwimmer’s 90s sitcom, and when Schwimmer is shooting his next video of some monkey business at a Jamba Juice he finds himself confronted by 2 masked competitors who have dubbed themselves Rachel Mean and Chandler Wring.
Is this the start of a viral sensation, or will all 3 find themselves in prison for criminal mischief, echoing the finale of Friends’ 90s sister sitcom Seinfeld?
