After a disastrous fifth inning in the fifth game of the World Series, Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole’s confidence is shaken. Sequestering himself in Upstate New York, Gerrit plans to spend the offseason rebuilding his fastball and working on the fundamentals (cough covering first base…cough). But when local bovines start turning up murdered, the small town turns to him to assist. As the only one in town not there when the slaughtering began, Cole is above suspicion.
Thrust into a world of small town secrets, indecent proposals, animal husbandry (the good kind), and risqué affairs Cole must decipher the clues and unravel the mystery less he be responsible for another tragedy. Will he learn the terrible secret of why cows are being killed before spring training? Can he get his curveball to crack 2300 RPM? Will the Yankees add another year to his contract thus voiding his ability to opt out? Only one of these questions will be answered, in a film PETA calls “necessary”. Hopefully it’s the question you care about.
