After their careers have been built around playing mainly villainous roles, brothers Alexander, Gustaf, and Bill Skarsgård collaborated on this callback to seminal classic Roadhouse with a decidedly Scandinavian twist to flex their leading man chops. Bar Bastu is the hottest nightclub/sauna in Stockholm, but the fact of the matter is that the free-flowing booze combined with the light-headedness of sweating it out in the sauna leads to more than a few fights breaking out. Someone(s) need to clean things up. Enter the titular bouncers, three hard punching, hard sexing brothers who agree to “clear the air” at the bar, one uppercut and quip at a time. You haven’t seen this many shirtless Swedes unless you’ve watched one of the myriad Viking shows on television this last decade. And when an evil real estate mogul played by their actual father Stellan shows up to chew the scenery as the villain in act 2 you’ll be left asking yourself “Is there anything Netflix won’t bankroll these days?”
