Skarsgård Weekend continues at A Pitch a Day! Fresh off of being uncanceled, James Gunn directs a smaller, more personal project; a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet and stars two families (both alike in acting dignitaries) — The Skarsgårds and the Hemsworths. With a nod towards inclusion and some LGBTTQQIAAP undertones, Gunn’s version will explore what happens when the long simmering tensions between Sweden and Australia are reignited. Out story begins in fair Verona…New York, at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Luke Hemsworth and Gustaf Skarsgård both wind up attending the annual Baldwin Breast Cancer fundraiser. As the night grows long, and the liquor flows freely they open up about their shared resentments toward their more famous brothers. A bond is formed and (in order to keep a PG-13 rating) any actual penetration is only implied. From there, well you know the rest of the Romeo and Juliet story. Does any of this make sense? Not at all. Is this a thinly veiled excuse to get 6 acting luminaries, the Baldwins, and honorary Hemsworth Channing Tatum together to knock over a casino? Possibly.
