After losing his job, Matt George returns to the one place he ever truly felt at home; the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmeron, New Mexico. As a Ranger, it is Matt’s job to guide two-week tours for scout troops through the Rocky Mountains, teaching outdoor safety, team work, and confidence building. While on the trail with his latest charges the unthinkable happens, and Matt must keep them safe and working together, or he risks putting them in harm’s way. He came home to Philmont to find himself, but over the course of one summer, he’ll learn that it’s what you give back that truly matters.
