Suburbia. It’s where the middle class goes to run out the clock before they retire to Florida. Each cul-de-sac littered with desperate housewives and High School football heroes. But there was one resident who didn’t just move to the suburbs, he helped build them. Before he was an old coot, Mervin Shockley was a hard-drinking architect who actively built the perfect town just for him. Over the years, Mervin’s seen many changes; feminism, yuppies, “unsavory” new neighbors, and hipsters. But now, Mervin faces his biggest struggle: pandemic-related quarantine. Alone, running low on bourbon, and finally having binged Breaking Breaking; Mervin is starting to grow paranoid. Now with the voice of conservative talk shows braying in his ear, Mervin breaks quarantine to take back the town he built from the liberal intelligentsia. It’s the fight Marvin has been spoiling for: a cranky old man with a loud voice who thinks his freedoms are being curtailed versus common sense and the majority of people who can handle social distancing.
