In 2032 after decades of presidential election cycles that have continued to degenerate further into farce a new political experiment is presented to the American people. Instead of “moderated” debates that are nothing more than screaming matches and network pundits on either side creating an echo chamber for their respective viewers a weary government turns to tech conglomerates for a different option to determine the leader of the free world. Mark Zuckerberg and Dana White’s newly consolidated MetaEndeavor wins the contract, and the result is a reality show
competition where candidates compete in increasingly harrowing challenges until the field is whitttled down to the final two who compete one-on-one in the Octagon for the belt and the presidency.
Each candidate is outfitted with a small explosive in their brain pan to discourage desertion or abstention, or just to be detonated for lolz by the audience voting online during the stream.
