In the grand tradition of 90s hip hop artists tackling meaty, police roles, Tone Loc returns to law enforcement as the Consulting Detective for the Dolby School for the Deaf. What begins with small, minor annoyances quickly escalates to a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as Det. Loc must confront his own prejudices and catch a predator-killer. Like Jessica Fletcher and Garth Brooks before him, is Det. Loc himself behind the string of grizzly murders? Did he create an intricate puzzle, so confusing that only M. Night can direct? Is Tone Loc even still alive? We know Shock G passed recently, but we’re not sure about Tone. It’s part Coda, part Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, in a script one development executive called “tasteless.”
