When the struggling small town of Millennial Falls faces economic collapse, its quirky mayor hires a team of social media consultants to rebrand the town as the ultimate influencer hotspot. What starts as a desperate bid for tourism quickly turns into a full-blown circus as the townspeople dive headfirst into influencer culture. A retired librarian becomes a viral ASMR sensation by reading tax codes, a farmer’s moonwalking cow takes over the internet, and the local church reinvents itself with TikTok dance worship. Even the mayor gets caught up, posting overly enthusiastic motivational videos that unintentionally attract hordes of self-absorbed influencers.
However, as the town’s economy booms, relationships begin to crumble. Longtime friends feud over follower counts, and genuine connections are replaced by brand partnerships and fake authenticity. Meanwhile, a drone-wielding teenager exposes the influencers’ staged antics, becoming an underground hero, while a conspiracy theorist warns that the influencer takeover is actually an alien invasion.
When the town’s first-ever Influencer Festival causes a total power outage due to too many livestreams, the residents are forced to reconnect the old-fashioned way: face-to-face. In the chaos, they rediscover what makes their town unique and launch a bold plan to reclaim their identity—by “canceling” influencer culture in the most spectacularly absurd way possible.
