3 months after multiple EMPs are detonated in the atmosphere above the United States a desperate gambit is made to try and restore the aging electrical grid. A self-sufficient and nuclear-powered AI processor capable of utilizing nanotechnology to repair and update the power grid dubbed the BRAiN has been in development at the Pentagon and was in a shielded laboratory when the pulses were detonated. The only problem is to be effective the device has to be introduced to the grid in a more central geographic location from an installation equipped to contain the radioactive fallout from its onboard reactor.
