If the success of Stranger Things has taught us anything, it’s that properly packaged nostalgia can be far more lucrative than any drug (with the possible exception of crack of course, but the unique economics of that drug make it an outlier, so it’s really not a fair comparison). Back to nostalgia and the now adult Gen-Xers that crave it. We open in the mid 80s with pre-teen Matthew and Louis having a Star Wars marathon sleepover. Like all boys of that era they imagine what it would be like to have the powers of Jedi Knights, going on adventures to save the galaxy. Hopped up on their own imaginations and questionable amounts of sugar, they’re convinced that they can make a magical concoction out of supplies they have in the house that will endow them with such powers. Against all odds, the two stumble upon Force Potion #9- a colorful mixture of M&Ms, Twizzlers, Hershey’s syrup and 8 other product-placement opportunities. Endowed with the ability to harness the force for one magical night, the adventure begins! Easily adaptable to a series: think Archeologist-Adventurer Potion #3, Extra-Terrestrial Potion #10 and Time-Traveler Potion #1.
