Words have meanings, and often many meanings. Sometimes words can mean something straightforward, like “Take a Knee”, a movie about a quarterback leading his team to victory by running out the clock. Sometimes words make us laugh because their meaning ends up being something comically unexpected, like “Take a Knee”, a movie about a burglar that steals people’s knees while they’re asleep and replaces them with squeaky toys. Sometimes the same words can describe something deadly and tragic, like a man having the life crushed out of his body by an officer that should have offered protection and respect rather than murder. And sometimes those same words can describe the actions a hurt and frustrated community use to protest against such evil actions. Here at A Pitch A Day, we use this entry to take a knee to take a stand in solidarity.
