Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. The weather starts to take a turn for the better, the end of the school year is in sight, and dormant Ice Cream shops begin opening for the season. For the small town of Beechum, this means Dairy Go Round is about to serve up some tasty frozen treats. Dairy Go Round is a local institution, it’s where families meet on a hot summer night, where Little League baseball teams put aside their feuds, and where where stupid high schoolers learn to make sloppy soft-served cones and awkward love. But this year, the Big Box Ice Cream retailers with their faux artisanal offerings have setup shop in Beechum. Left with many options the Dairy Go Round employees choose the stupidest one; to wage an all out war for survival against the corporate monsters, culminating in a series of pranks, propaganda, protests, and dairy-based assaults. Can one misguided group of high school students save a small town way of life? Let’s hope so, otherwise Hollywood has been lying to us all our lives…
