Apple picking. Apple Bobbing. The Dutch Apple Herprise. Is there anything more wholesome than apples? For two siblings who inherit the family orchard, their dreams of out-of-town leaf peepers filling bushels full of Honeycrisps and buying maple candy are dashed when a torrential rainstorm drops all of their crop on the ground just before tourist season. Scrambling, the siblings make the only choice they can β collect all the apples from the ground and bake them into pies! Now, they have new dreams, like winning the annual 4H Pie contest, making apple pie moonshine, and collecting the insurance money when they grow sick of farming and burn the orchard down. But, every bushel has a wormy apple, and in this case itβs the Pacific Northwest Apple Consortium. As they make overtures to buy the orchard out, the siblings are torn between running the family business and selling out. Will the siblings be served a big slice of humble pie or will their decision to sell be easy as pie? Either way, it will be served alongside a hunk of cheese in this low-stakes thriller.
