Back in the heyday of Hollywoodland; when men were men and women had gams that didn’t quit, Assistant Directors would call the martini shot. The martini shot was a film tradition and it was called to signify the final shot of the day — “The next shot is out of a glass", referring to a post-wrap drink. While listening to his boomer grandfather describe his work in the film industry, Alex Winters misunderstands what the martini shot actually is. Thinking he’s hit on a million dollar novelty, Alex tries to distill the complex and balanced martini down to a single shot. Unable to crack the vermouth paradox, Alex whines, pouts, and sasses his elders to cover up his own incompetence and general terribleness. There’s not much more to this pitch than dunking on lazy, entitled millennials one final time before A Pitch a Day closes up shop.
