According to Zelda Peckinpaugh’s last will and testament, her vast fortune is to be dispersed amongst her living relatives. Hundreds rush from the woodwork and claim to be related. While most of the scammers are exposed, one slips through. Nic Cage plays Jim Foster, a conman always one step ahead of Johnny Law. He is able to able to convince the Executor that he is related to Zelda, but the rest of her relatives remains doubtful. As the threads of his grift begin to unravel, Jim has to go to elaborate lengths to keep up the charade.
