Why should the MCU be the only one getting to have fun in the multiverse sandbox? Turns out “multiverse” isn’t copyrighted, so fair game! This early ‘80s period piece will rely heavily on de-aging technology or cheap lookalikes (studio’s choice) to reunite us with Frank Poncherello and John Baker in their SoCal heyday. During a routine highway chase of some gang members that have been menacing L.A.’s highways and schools, a perfect storm of a crash occurs, opening a portal to a parallel universe through which our heroes are thrown. After some comical fish out of water vignettes, Ponch and John bump into their alternate selves, who happen to own a popular Mexican restaurant. After a few more funny and script-lengthening vignettes, our heroes learn some important lessons about life. 2 Ponches and 2 Johns are better than 1 Ponch and 1 John, salsa is delicious in any universe, and every multiverse has highways that need patrolling. Oh, and Sarge Getraer is a mute 2 legged declawed cat who couldn’t hurt a fly in this universe. So why not stay and enjoy it!
