This indirect and unrelated sequel to ET has the guts and greed to put product placement up front and center. Set 40 years after the events of the movie that this is not a sequel to, Ellian is all grown up. Convinced that his long gone best friend will return at any time, but worried that he won’t be able to find him on his own, Ellian sets trails of treats leading to his house. But as they’ve both undoubtedly grown, he’ll obviously need to use bigger candies than when they first met. Follow Ellian and his returning friend as they enjoy Coca Cola and McDonalds on a cross-country adventure in their new Mazda CX-5. Will they be able to save the day by building an interstellar communication device using only parts they purchase from Amazon Prime and IKEA? You bet!
