25 years after her tragic fall, Zoey returns to the old farm well she was stuck in for 3 days as a child. Why return? Let’s avoid the phrase “plot device” and just say it’s the recommendation of her therapist to finally get some closure to the trauma. But things take a supernatural twist when Zoey realizes that her fall was no accident, but rather the work of a malevolent demon that resides in the well. It’s now clear what Zoey must do: endure 60 minutes of torment and dying friends, keep an eye out for a small trinket or verbal prod from the demon that makes her realize she should “turn the tables and fight back”, and finally end the nightmare in the most fire-filled and contrived way possible. Easily the first installment of a 6 part franchise.
